Linda Pearson, author of the new guide will summarize findings of new research on investments by Local Authorities Pension Funds and other institutions in Scotland in nuclear weapons and outline actions people can take to support the campaign.
Maikke Beenes, Programme officer Humanitarian Disarmament at PAX Netherlands, and co-author of the global Don’t Bank on the Bomb Annual Reports, will update us on global nuclear weapons divestment campaigns and the campaign for a nuclear weapons ban treaty.
Dr Michael Orgel, Medact Scotland (an IPPNW affiliate) will speak on “The Humanitarian Effects of Nuclear Weapons”. The Don’t Bank on the Bomb Scotland Network has been campaigning for RBS, Scottish Parliament, Universities and Local Authorities to divest from nuclear weapons.
